GLI SKYFIRE DEBUTTANO SU HAMMERHEART CON UN GRAN DISCONE CHE FONDE DEATH METAL E MUSICA BAROCCA : SPLENDIDI ! ASCOLTIAMO IL BASSISTA JOHN....... 1- Hail guys !!! Lord Glacial from here ! First of all congratulations for your fantastic debut . Please , its important for me and for my readres to know something of your past experiences Hail Lord Glacial! Thank you for your kind words, nice to hear you like the album! Well, I can tell you that Skyfire has been around since 1997. Before Skyfire the members played in different bands that weren't very serious. I think the start of Skyfire was when Andreas and Martin got together and started writing/recording songs in Andreas basement. Later on the rest of us joined in and Skyfire was founded! After the first demo that was a lousy one (we almost didn't send it to anyone) we recorded a second demo which we called "The Final Story". This one was appreciated by people who heard it and eventually Hammerheart Records got hold of a copy and contacted us. Suddenly we had contract of two albums in our hand! The next step was when we entered Abyss studios to record "Timeless Departure" and here we are today! 2- Can you describe us your musical essence in all the complexes shades ? I think the essence in our music is the mixture between simple but yet fantastic melodies and the heavy elements such as the vocals. Haunting guitars mixed with thunderous keyboards always has been the main thing with Skyfire. Some people like to describe Skyfire like a powermetalband with deathmetal vocals, but I don't think that is a fair description. Sure, we like many Power Metal bands, but we don't see ourselves as one. Our music has more complex and progressive parts and I think that is our strength! 3- Your music is full of epic and baroques elements ,two noble form of art I think .Can them represent your emotional world ? Since we live in a world of much hate and violence, it's a natural thing to dream about past era's. The baroque style in our music is influenced by many classical masterpieces. Besides metal, I would personally prefer listening to classical music. Vivaldi, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Paganini are some of which I have liked since childhood. 4- Another thing that your songs shows is the influence that the classical Heavy Metal has on your style .How much have been important for you bands that have done great the Metal during the 80s ? I'd say the 80's Metal has done a lot for us. We all grew up when Heavy Metal was on the rise and of course you were influenced by it! I remember the first time I heard early Helloween when I was about 10 and I think that was the first real metal I was into. Some personal favourites in no particular order are Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen, Metallica, Dio, Helloween, Magnum and Slayer, Just to name a few. 5- What does it mean for you to play in Skyfire ? Well, since this is probably my one and only chance to fame, glory, riches and virginal sacrifice to my honor, Iīd say alot ;) Seriously I absolutely love playing with Skyfire since I have four great friends in the band. Seeing this dream come true, making a record, surely means a lot! The music will always come first for me. Hopefully we can make a living of our music, but that is nothin we expect. 6- Tell me your opinion about this arguments : a)death b)hate c)paganism d) religion Arguments? Not sure Iīm following you there, but here are some thoughts: a) Death comes to one and all, sooner or later, so thereīs not really any reason to fear death overly much, itīs the most natural thing in the world. b) Hate is something that we all have in us, itīs a poweful force, not necessarily bad. Chanelled coerrectly hate can become a great motivation and fuel your dreams. Hate in its worst form is an ugly beast though, and should be treated and met with care, wisdom and enlightenment. c) I think paganism is a fascinating thing to read about and hear tales of. The Northern mythology shows great history concerning paganism and I think the spirits of our ancient ancestors still live inside us Scandinavians... d) Religion is the source of much good in this world, but unfortunately itīs the source of even more of the worst in this world. Terrible atrocities have been committed in the name of religion, wars have been fought over the idiotic notion that one man can decide whats right and wrong for another too believe in. I believe in a higher spiritual existance on a personal level, but organized religion has nothing to offer me. 7- Who represent the oldman in the cover of your cd ? Ancient wisdom turned to madness... 8- There is a dream you would to be reality ? Yes! One of the biggest dream would be to tour with Skyfire all over the world. Since childhood we've always dreamt of to be able to play on different places on the earth, meeting a lot of people and other bands. One dream we had has already come true. The making of an album! 9- What are your next steps ? Right now we just sit around waiting for the album to be released and watch the response from metalfreaks around the world. Martin and Andreas are writing some new stuff for our next album, so I guess we're not entirely idle. We are receiving a lot of interviews these days too, and that takes up a lot of your time. 10-The Sverige its a nation full of musicians , its true that the government help the young musicians in many ways? Or its present another factor that increased the possibilities of Sveriges people to become musicians ? In Sweden every child has the posibility of playing almost any kind of instrument for a very fair price. Every town has it's own musical-school in which you can learn how to play an instrument. The government helps out with money for the schools and this way we get a very musical society with lots of different bands on the rise! 11- Ok , can you close this interview as you want .
